Sort of like a hobby that’s slowly grown out of control and now needs more space in the house than you bargained for would be an okay way to describe the rise and rise of Good News Central TV.com. Or of good news in general really.
It’s amazing how much the demand for positive energy has grown over the last few years. Enjoy it while it lasts. We’ll do our best on our crazy schedules to keep some steady, uplifting contributions happening if you’ll do your best to check them out!
It sure looks like Jason Mraz has turned in to a cute little boy playing the hit “I’m Yours.” Of course it’s not the real Jason (at least we think so) however the boy is not identified and the video has recently appeared on YouTube and has spread all over the Web.
Even though he doesn’t seem to know the lyrics of the song millions of people have watched his enthusiastic and infectious performance. Make it ‘millions plus one’.
Brandon Brauns has terminal brain cancer and it’s progressing. To be expected, he’s undergone Chemotherapy but it has stopped working. He has 15 tumors in his head and four in his spine but there’s nothing wrong with his heart.
Though Ten-year-old Brandon may not make it to his 11th birthday in March he’s on a mission. Putting his own illness aside, the boy from Bothell, Wash., organized a toy drive at Shelton Elementary School. More than 400 toys were dropped off at Seattle Children’s Hospital and another 100 at a local Ronald McDonald House. That’s GREAT news!
Brandon had this to say,
“If I was in the hospital over Christmas again, I would want presents. So I thought I’d bring presents down to the kids at Children’s (Hospital).”
So at night on Christmas Eve the hospital nurses will help Brandon deliver the toys while the kids are sleeping.
Here’s to you Brandon and may your final months be full of joy, happiness and hopefully painless. Bless you kid!
I’m not sure whether to love him or hate him. Either way, envy is certainly amongst the conflict of emotions here. Sixty-two year old James McAllister from Acworth could only have had a better day if he were in Vegas. When he bought two scratch-off lottery tickets on Valentines day, he found himself suddenly over 250,000 dollars richer!
Statistically speaking, you have a better chance getting struck by lighting than winning the lottery. So what does it take to win two time in one day? The odds are staggering.
Here’s what happened
James brought his wife for a Valentine’s breakfast. Along Highway 92 he bought a Georgia Lottery Millionaire Jumbo Bucks scratch off ticket. He won and instantly $5,000 richer.
Later on in the day he bought another ticket as he was shopping for a Valentine’s card for his wife. Apparently, breakfast was not enough. Scratching that one off was worth $250,000! James was reported as saying;
“It was because of Valentine’s Day. If it hadn’t been for my wife, I probably wouldn’t have won either time.”
The odds in the Georgia Lottery Millionaire Jumbo Bucks of winning $5,000 are one in 10,000. The odds of winning $250,000 are one in more than 1 million…. The odds of winning both and on the same day are fishy. No matter, the old guy got away like a bandit and that’s really good news!

Egypt’s overcrowded public garbage became a plague on the capital city of Cairo until an American engineer came along with an idea to turn their waste into wealth! Within bio-containers, the waste is turned into biogas fuel which is then used for cooking and heating homes.
Did you miss World AIDS Day? Again? Come on, get it together man. Even the government go in on all the fun. The U.S. dropped its travel ban on people with HIV who come to America. The complete removal of the ban comes into play on 4 January 2010.
The global AIDS coordinator, Ambassador Eric Goosby, point s out the travel ban was originally established way back in 1987, in at a time when there was very little information about how HIV was transmitted and was later embraced by Congress. Seemed like a fine idea at the time.
Today, only a handful of countries around the world ban HIV-positive travelers from crossing their borders. It’s nice to know that the United States, though the only Western country to defend this discriminatory policy, is no longer one of them. Finally, last year Congress repealed the law to impose a travel ban and the Obama administration was able to get it through.

At the Vancouver Peace Summit in September, some of the world’s most well-known peace-makers, including Nobel Prize winners, devised a new Charter of Compassion inviting people everywhere to rediscover the Golden Rule. Well, all we can say is it’s about fukn time! We thought we were going to have to kill somebody to get this to happen. LOL!

It is a cooperative effort to restore not only compassionate thinking but, more importantly, compassionate action to the centre of religious, moral and political life. Compassion is the principled determination to put ourselves in the shoes of the other, and lies at the heart of all religious and ethical systems.
Okay, it’s not as awesome as it sounds. Unfortunately, these poor kids have to endure a lot of hardship and need the support of American viewers. Many thousands of Americans are answering their call for help and the money is pouring in. Certainly something to be proud of since the war itself most certainly is not.
Now these financially disadvantaged kids will be able to do just that and all thanks to one special guy…
